Will Canon make an MX 850 driver for El Capitan?

After updating my MacBook Pro to El Capitan, I have not been able to print to my Pixma MX 850. I see that there is no driver presently available for El Capitan. The MX 850 is a fine printer, and there is nothing else wrong with it. Do I really have to replace this printer with a newer model? If so, I may very well be looking into another brand of printer as well.
