      <description>&lt;P&gt;the question was not exactly answered.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;as i understood the question was..... can a black cartridge be put in slot instead of colour cartridge.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;sometimes some of us dont print much if at all in colour and wonder if both slots could hold black cartridges&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;instead of 1 blk and 1 colour.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you for reaching out to Canon USA, we're happy to help!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The black tank shouldn't fit in the other slot, however, if you were to get it to fit, the printer most likely won't recognize the tank, to prevent damage to the printing system.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you need to print only in monochrome (black and white), we suggest using a laser printer instead of a PIXMA, as they're more cost effective in this use case.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
