    <description>&lt;P&gt;I called Canon USA support center (&lt;SPAN&gt;1 (800) 652-2666). &amp;nbsp;The tech support person who answered was not helpful at all. She was eating something and kept saying that "You have an OLD printer and often time it is not comatible with a very new techology." &amp;nbsp; We know that, but stating so doesn't help at all. Also, she kept telling me that "She doesn't know mach about it." &amp;nbsp;I ended up asking how to download older version of MP Navigator, which I had already uninstalled. &amp;nbsp;She relactantly showed me how.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Canon USA product page:&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/support-inkjet-printer/mx-series/pixma-mx870?subtab=downloads-software" target="_blank"&gt;https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/support-inkjet-printer/mx-series/pixma-mx870?subtab=downloads-software&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Make sure to chose operation system 10.11 or older version. (If you don't change the operating system, the site automatically ditects High Sierra and you won't see the older version of MP Navigator)&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Download&amp;nbsp;MP Navigator EX Ver. 3.1.5 (OS X) under the software. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;This version was released less than 10 months ago.&amp;nbsp;09/10/17. &amp;nbsp; Canon's tech support person kept saying MX870 is too old is really not commended attitude. It was really disappointing, but older version of MP Navigator should help.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello, I'm hoping someone can assist.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I recently upgratded the OS&amp;nbsp;on my iMac to mac OS High Sierra Version&amp;nbsp;10.13.1. &amp;nbsp;I've noticed the scanner function on my MX870 (connected via wireless)&amp;nbsp;will not operate. &amp;nbsp;When I click on Scan/Import photos or documents in the Canon Solutions Menu, I see the scanner icon bouncing in the tool bar at the bottom, then it disappears and I get the folowing error message:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;MP Navigator EX quit unexpectedly.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Click Reopen to open the application again.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Im in Australia.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I have MX870, I installed Sierra High Update, noticed a few days after than I could not scan.&amp;nbsp; I am sure I could print okay, but I have 2 multifunction centres attached to my Mac and I have no set pattern for which one I use.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp; I was on a deadline to scan and send an email&amp;nbsp; .&amp;nbsp; I phoned Canon in the Phillipines&amp;nbsp; (Canon Support for Australia) and they said there were no updated drivers. This was at 17 November 2017. &amp;nbsp; The only thing I could do was get Mac to talk me through downgrading to first version of Sierra.&amp;nbsp; Luckily I had backups with timemachine -&amp;nbsp; I went back to first version of Sierra.&amp;nbsp; The only thing I did not realise is that when you use timemachine, it can take a long time for your Mac to get the info, in my case, it was 4 hours which was about 250 gb of hard drive.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So about 8 hours wasted in all.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Dont know whether Canon will update drivers, probably trying to force you to update to another one of their machines..&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I love the MX870 for scanning!!!! and machine is a few years old, but I will keep it until it dies, despite me having a 2nd office led printer/scanner.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 24 November 2017&amp;nbsp; -&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Just had a very helpful session with the Canon administrator. He walked me through re-installing software from OS 10.11 and the scanner is working again. He recommended folks call Canon assistance with this.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The scanner didn't work for me either once I've updated to High Sierra and doesn't look like Canon will be providing a new driver for the update.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've called them and they've suggested I use Mac's Image Capture&amp;nbsp;application to scan. This works for me.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have the CanoScan LiDE700F and this is the second Canon scanner that has become worthless when we can no longer get Canon driver updates. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I did use PDFScanner, which may be an app that comes on the Mac that I could use to do some basic scanning.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Same problem here. Solved by using scanner functionality in System Preferences/Printers &amp;amp; Scanners/Scan. Not as easy to use as the Solution Menu, but it does the trick&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>Similarly, I had the same issue with the MX870 scanner.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;When I attempted to scan documents from my Canon MX870 using a MacBook (High Sierra 10.13.2), I received the following error message "MP Navigator EX quit unexpectedly".&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As recommended by an earlier contributor, I successfully began using Image Capture (default program for Mac). However, this was not as useful as MP Navigator EX.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Subsequently, I dragged MP Navigator EX to the Trash and reinstalled MP Navigator EX for 10.11.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;MP Navigator EX is now working for me on 10.13.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this information helps someone else.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Ihave an iMac using Mac OS10.13.2 High Sierra. I had the same problem with MP Navigator quitting. However you can still scan using Mac software. Go apple/System Preferences/Printers &amp;amp; Scanners and click on Canon MX870 series. This brings up a scanner window which works for me.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am experiencing&amp;nbsp;the same problem. Unable to print or scan with the Canon&amp;nbsp;MX870. This printer was a work horse! Canon could&amp;nbsp;have at least warned their customers they will no longer support this model for MacOSX development. Instead they left their loyal supporters of their products in the dark.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Most people would have bought new printers during&amp;nbsp;the black Friday holiday sale (Nov. 2017) had we known. Amazon had a plethora of new printers (Canon and others for ridiculously cheap prices). HighSierra was released at the end of September and it is February&amp;nbsp;4th, 2018 and still no mention of what is going to happen regarding the MX870 driver.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am really disappointed&amp;nbsp;in Canon customer service. Just be honest guys! Do not keep us waiting in the dark. If you are going to write the driver and share it please do so. &lt;STRONG&gt;If not, just say this model printer is slated to be decommissioned&amp;nbsp;from future support and be done with it.&lt;/STRONG&gt; &lt;U&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Communication with your loyal customer base is key to keeping your customers.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/U&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Keep the thread going and I hope more people add to it so Canon can just give us a straight answer.
