Printer MG6350

I've been printing CDs successfully for ages so I am familier with the hardware/software etc.

Unfortunately I now have a problem. The tray is sliding out about 1.5cm and then there are a few "whirling" sounds but the tray does not go in as it normally does. I have cleaned all the silver bits but still no good. The error message says "There is no Disk Tray, set disk tray and tap Ok but this just results in a retry with the same result

Canon suggests ending it back to the other end opf England and local repairers don't fill me with confidence.

Anyone got any DIY fixes?

Failing a fix anyone know of a domestic printer that prints onto CDs anymore?

Cheers
