MG5422 Printer shut down and won't turn back on

I have had this printer since my sophomore year of high school in 2014. I was trying to print a document for a class and the window on the printer told me to change the ink, so I tried multiple times to get the tray to stop going back and forth so I could change the ink. After 10-15 minutes the printer just shut off and will not turn back on. I have tried unplugging it from the wall and plugging it back into a different socket. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi ejroditis,

Make sure all cables are securely connected. Addtionally, try taking the unit into another room and try plugging it into another power source to see if the unit will power up. If the unit is plugged into a surge protector try plugging it directly into the power outlet.
