topic Pixma 7720 Win10 only generic "type 4" driver not mg7700 driver? in Desktop Inkjet Printers

My new Pixma 7720 works in win 7 but in Win10 it only has a barely functional generic "canon type 4" driver availble, in win 7 a 7700 series driver is available?

I've tried all my tricks, unziped install files looking for inf's, insralled every version of the canon software, updated firmware and no joy. In the add printer / drivers section no 7700 option shows up. Also if I take the 48mb install file unzip it an look under \win\driver nothing there, in fact the entire \win dir is mostly empty folders, can any confirm this is normal or is this my problem?

Well maybe I got it, I unzipped all 3 versions of the software and found the smaller m68n-win-mg7700-1_00-ea34_2 and xp68-win-mg7700-5_90-ea34_2 have inf files, where as the "complete" the recommended and default version (win-mg7700-1_0-jucd) seems 2b non-functional..

right click the inf's and select install here

\m68n-win-mg7700-1_00-ea34_2\m68n-win-mg7700-1_00-ea34_2\Driver\
