Why does my MX922 keep getting clogged print heads?

Bought a new MX922 2 years ago, loved it! After 9 months a grad got clogged, Canon replaced it but it did not work so Canon sent a refurbished replacement. It worked great until a print this week was purple and I saw the cyan head was clogged.

i took the head out and cleaned with warm water now only yellow prints.

so what's the deal? Am I doing something wrong? Should I clean heads monthly?

i print 8-12 color 8x10's weekly, I use a lot of color!!

Hi Mutantmike,

Please try a few printhead cleanings. Please perform the following steps to perform a Cleaning:

1. Press the MENU button on your PIXMA MX922.

2. Press the Setup button.

3. Select Maintenance then press the OK button.

4. Select Cleaning and press OK.

5. Press OK to select Yes.

The cleaning will be performed. After 2 or 3 cleanings, print another test page.

Does the test page print correctly? If not, please contact our support group using the following link:

2 cleanings

2 deep cleanings

now it only prints yellow!!!!

I have removed the print head and soked it in distilled water with a tiny bit of alcohol overnight, I will test the print head this morning
