MX477 Printer doesn't recognize A4 paper size...

When I try to print or copy with A4 paper in the feed tray I get the error message:

"Fed paper size is different from paper size in print settings"

The printer will print if I change the paper size in print settings to "Letter" but then the copy or print is cropped for letter size instead of the actual A4 paper size. Please help!!!
