mX 870 feeds multiple pages from the rear paper tray

I continue to have the rear paper tray feed problems with multiple pages 2-8 for a single page of printing. I have performed the roller cleaning via the on screen instructions and have manually cleaned the roller with alcohol and a q-tip. I am using standard 20lb copy paper 70 gm/c2 or whatever paper from Staples. This just started happening after a couple years of no problems Looking for some possible solutions?
