I have had a Canon MG3150 printer for abouit 5/6yrs it prints and copies perfectly. I've never had to use the scanner from home.

I tried for the first time today and got the message Error Code 5,156,61; Cannot scan for these reasons: Scanner is turned off; USB cable is not connected.

Everything was connected and working as I had just copied a document and had no problems. I have changed USB ports, tried manual (using the button on the printer) scanning and get a flashng E sign. Have turned everything of then on again still no joy.

Please help. Am using Windows 7

Thanks
