No compatibility

Bought a new wireless Canon MG6821 , alleged to be Mac compatible. Only problem? Canon has not yet developed driver/scanner software comaptible with OS10.12 Sierra.

They tell me this printer 'may' work with existing El Capitan software, but their own printer search can't even find their own printer wirelessly. Their only suggestion is to use a USB cable, which I no longer have...the **bleep** thing is supposed to be wireless.

Does any Mac user know how to make an iMac recognize a new printer without using any of Canon's useless suggestions?
