Pixima PG3100 not showing on usb conection

Pixima printer working when copying, but no longer shows up on a laptop to print, one LP ms os 7 the other os 8.1. Add new printer does not work- cannot be found message.Tried reinstalling the software and a new USB cable, NOT a wi fi problem. Could it be repaired or is it scrap? Worked fine for 3 years.

No I was using the DVD software still, but just downloaded this new one and tried it, still cannot detect printer in set up so driver not installed. Looks like repair or replace then?

If it worked OK and then suddenly stopped working on two computers it's probably a printer issue. Repair is usually not cost effective.
