I have never had this problem before upgrading to Windows 10.

In the past when I put in a FULL large black cartidge and had a nearly full small black cartidge I had no issue with printing to grayscale.

I have an emergency situation and now cannot print an important overnite shipping label.

I had always been able to print black ink only without color ink.

Is this some change in Canon software? Related to Windows 10? Some other glitch that can be fixed?

Thanks. I am using that driver. I downloaded it and installed it just make sure it was somehow differnet from the one I loaded after installing Windows 10.

I now realize it says the same thing on the printer. It shows the two black inks do not need replaced, only the color ones, but it refuses to let me do anything other than buy ink.

So I am off to Staples - to buy another printer other than Canon.

I am not sure yet what I will do with my cameras and camcorder, since I have only purchased Canons, but I will not patronize any company that practices extortion as a business model.

The Samsung laser printer is only $79!
