Is there seriously not a darken/lighten option for making copies?

I had an earlier model of this printer and it made copies that were hard to tell from the original so i never needed to fidget with darken/lighten. This newer model however, makes copies so light you cannot tell they came from the original. Content missing, small fine print unreadable, solid lines not solid.

I am using standard copy paper, same I've used for ten years and I've tried every setting and combination setting, every copy looks the same as each other no matter what.

Truth is, if this is the best copy I can get out of this, it doesn't suit my needs at all.

Can you help me get a copy at least dark enough to read?

No solutions I guess.

I will now go to the reviews for Office Depot and give this unit a half star, a bad review, and additionally mention all teh ways i tried to get an answer or solution and Canon was a complete void on the matter.

This model is useless for making copies. If they are splotchy with white areas and you cannort even read #`10 font because it's so light, it shouldn't even have a copier feature listed as part of it.

Garbage..........never again, In fact since it's not been 30 days, I'll exhaust the ink and return it.

Thanks for nothing, Canon.
