Mg8220 and new computer running win 10 drivers help

Hi,

I need to install new drivers on my pc running win10 x64. I have an MG8220 multifunction printer. There are several drivers and I need help choosing between the xps and mp drivers. Can you tell me what to choose please?

This file is a printer driver for Canon IJ printers. XPS printer drivers support 16-bpc printing, which enables more smooth gradation printing than the current drivers (8-bpc printing).

Do I have to install firmware too?

Hello.

Download and install the MP Driver. The XPS driver is optional and is only needed for certain programs.

It is not necessary to update the firmeware for Windows 10 use.

I just got a new computer and I'm trying to find a friver to install for my mg8220, but just keep gettign messages saying it is retired, is there any way to use this printer on my computer and find the driver to download?
