topic Pixma iX 6820 paper sizes issue in Desktop Inkjet Printers

the Pixma iX 6820 is a very nice printer. However, my big complaint is that using "nonstandard" (non standard to Canon) paper sizes is a pain. Apparently even savng a file with all the print info doesn't mean that 4 or 5 steps aren't needed to use it. Even with the limited ability to specify a custom size, still requires me to stop, go out to printer and device, call up preferences, change the paper size, apply and save. most days, I have to do this at least 2 or 3 times to make it stick.

And even saving a custom size doesn't guarentee the size will automatically come up at the time of printing.

customer serivce when i called was "well, that the way it is"
