      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have tried searching the error in the forum and after the support team asks what operating system they are using, the user answers but &amp;nbsp;there is no reply or answer from support after. Why suddenly does my Canon MX470 series printer not work when last week I had zero problems? I am running Windows 7 and the error message says "The printer is offline. Check that the printer is connected and the printer power is on". I've done those things and now &amp;nbsp;I'd like a clear concise answer to help me use my printer please.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;If the printer is connected via wifi ...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Assuming that the printer's connection to the router is good (which can be verified by printing a LAN details page), there are a few possibilities. I'll order them by likelyhood, in my own opinion (though I &lt;STRONG&gt;strongly&lt;/STRONG&gt; recommend printing a LAN details page to confirm a good signal strength and valid IP address)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1. You could have Windows set to use the printer offline (R-click on the printer in Devices and Printers =&amp;gt; See what's printing =&amp;gt; Click on "Printer" where "File" would normally be =&amp;gt; Uncheck "Use Printer Offline")&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2. You have the printer set to the wrong port (R-click&amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN&gt;on the printer in Devices and Printers =&amp;gt; Printer Properties =&amp;gt; Ports tab =&amp;gt; The port should start with the letters "CNBJ"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;If the printer is connected via a USB cable ...&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;1. You could have Windows set to use the printer offline (R-click on the printer in Devices and Printers =&amp;gt; See what's printing =&amp;gt; Click on "Printer" where "File&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;" would normally be =&amp;gt; Uncheck "Use Printer Offline")&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;2. The computer hardware might not be recognizing the printer (Go to device manager and check to see if the printer is listed under "Imaging Devices"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Let us know how that works and we can go from there.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
