My PIXMA MG5620 has a chronic problem with pulling paper from the paper tray. There will be plenty of paper but it constantly needs to have it hand-fed. Then it often pulls in the whole bunch of papers and jams. What can I do to prevent this?

Furthermore, the paper feeds fine on my MG5620 during the "roller cleaning" function, but won't feed at all during a regular print or "print nozzle check pattern" function.

During the latter two (regular print, "print nozzle check pattern"), NO paper feeds, and I get a "C000" Support Code telling me to check for foreign objects, protective material and correct ink tank installation. None of those are the issue, and I've been on phone with Canon tech support for an hour today with this exact issue, and several other times with similar and different issues since I bought this over the last 2+ years.

I hate to just throw this machine out and buy a new one (making waste, and spending more money), but this machine has not worked well since soon after buying it. Is the MG5620 a bad model, or is just my printer a bad build of it?

Can anyone help me with getting this to work?

Thanks.

And even though I've had it over 2-4 years now, it has had VERY few pages put through it for that amount of time. Maybe 200-300 pages?? 400 pages Max?? That's like 8-16 pages PER MONTH. That's VERY low mileage for the printer to have stopped working by now.

I mean, it's always always always needed assistance feeding paper (by hand), but to totally not work by now, that's not right 😕

It wasn't an 11 year old topic back in 2019 when I posted here that nobody ever replied to.

And even though it is an 11 year old topic, why should that mean to start a different new thread? That would just serve to make searching and finding answers/help more difficult for people, since there would be 2 different threads to find and navigate. It makes far more sense to have ONE thread per topic/issue.

If a 2nd thread started, and someone replied with help/solution to the 2nd new thread, then the people who had sought help on the first/original thread would not get the answer/help/solution.

It makes zero sense to start a 2nd thread for an issue. That's why when it happens, people direct the person who started the new thread back to the original thread for the issue.

Please, nobody start a 2nd thread for this issue.

Ted

Well said, Ted.

It being an 11 year old thread without a solution, for a known issue, should be even more reason to try to find a resolution. When I searched Google, this is where it brought me.

It's almsot like they rather you start a new thread so they can act like it's a new problem.
