Instructions say can't auto on & off if on network . Is there a way around this or new software or is this just not possible with this printer

hey I'm on HP g7 laptop win7 home ie11 Avira antivirus running on Netgear 3400 router Cocast isp just bought Pixma mg3520 and instructions say I can't use auto off -on while on network Is this something that can be changed with new software or is it just something I have to live with.

You are correct. The auto-power features can only be used when the printer is connected via the USB cable. We do apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause.
