printer cannot recognize ink cartridge

I'm using a canon pixma ip 2770. I just refilled the colored cartridge and the problem is that when I inserted it again and tried to print a document it suddenly cannot recognize both cartridges. But it can when only one cartridge is inserted. What can I do to fix this?
