I'm on a Mac running MacOS Catalina 10.15.5 and am wondering about color profiles for the IP7220. Should there be color profiles installed when the driver is installed? And if so, what are they named? vDoes anyone have a list?

Also, should they be installed automatically to Finder / Go / Computer / [Your HD] / Library / ColorSync as per the Canon instrctions for self installing, or elsewhere when installing the driver?

Lastly, is there a place where the varo\ious color profiles for Canon paper types can be downloaded?

Hi Dbruce,

The profiles are installed when you install the printer driver. Please make sure that you are using the Canon printer driver and not the Airprint driver. The Airprint driver is a generic driver supplied by Apple and does not include profiles.

The current driver is available from this link:

Once the driver is installed, please follow these steps:

1. Click on the Apple in the upper left corner and then System Preferences.

2. Click on Printers & Scanners.

3. Click 1 time on the iP7220 on the left side and then [-] at the bottom to remove it. Repeat until all iP7220's are removed.

4. Click the [+] and then "add printer or scanner". The Add window will appear.

5. In the Add window, click 1 time on the iP7220 that appears in the list. If you are using your iP7220 via Wi-Fi, please wait until the IJ Network listing appears.

6. At the bottom, next to "Use", please select Canon iP7200 series (not Airprint or Secure Airprint).

7. Click the Add button and your iP7220 will be reinstalled.

The paper profiles will appear in the print dialog box from within the application that you are printing from.

Yes, that worked. It seems my problem was not deleting all the existing 7200 printers before doing the reinstall.

AND I managed to locate where the profiles are 'hidden'. They are not in the HD/Library/ColorSync/Profiles folder but deeply buried elsewhere. Specifically:

HD/Library/Printers/Canon/BJPrinter/Resources/ICCProfiles/IP7200series.iconicc/Contents/Resorces

Note that for 'Contents' within the .iconicc file one must 'right-click' then 'Show contents'
