How do you remove a jammed front door on a Canon MG3550 printer?

The front door on my printer is jammed shut.

I am unable therefore to do paperfeed, or print out.

The hinge on one side seems to have become out of line.

There is no obvious way to take the outer cover off, as I am sure that this will easily solve the problem.

Any ideas?
