topic Canon MX892 printer error in Desktop Inkjet Printers

I suffered the Canon MX892 printer error. I went online and read all the horror stories and tried all the suggested fixes. I finally did what I should have done in the firs place. I called Canon customer support.

They said they would send me a new printer head, under warranty which they did and I had it in a couple of days.

When I installed the new print head I then found the printer would not print at all, it just output blank sheets of paper. I called cust support again. They had me try a few things through the maintance program non of which worked. The rep then aid that since it appeared that the "unit" was faulty they would end me a new "unit". I asked what a unit was and they said they were sending me a new replacement printer. If they no longer had the MX892 they would send me the next newer model. I should have it in a few days. Bottom line - just call their customer support line, it may save time, expense and aggrivation.
