canon mp190 will not print in colour even though colour ink is installed

Hello

My Canon MP190 has both black and colour cartridges installed but when I print any document with colour in it the printer only prints out in black and white. I do not have greyscale printing enabled and the printer has successfully passed a nozzle check, it printed in colour on its last check.

I'm puzzled and annoyed that this is happening since I have a full colour cartridge going to waste. Any help would be appreciated.
