Canon MX452 tells me it's offline, printer not connected but it has been installed on my MacBook Pro

Hello. Just purchased a Canon MX452. Used the CD to install the drivers. Installation complete. and printer has been set up wirelessly. Blue light is on. But when I try to print I get a message telling me printer is offline and not connected to computer. When I try to use the USB cable I get the same message. Very frustrating. Manual no help at all.
