Pixma MX420 switches from copy to fax

My MX420 switches (on its' own) from Copy to Fax and then starts printiing Fax reports continually. I cannot find anything in the printer queue; I have re-installed the driver; I have completely uninstalled the printer and then re-installed it, and the problem persists. What am I missing?

I am sorry to hear that your printer switches to Fax mode and prints reports continuously. In order for me to better assist you with this, I will need to ask some questions. Please answer the following for me:

1. What fax report is it printing?

2. When was the last time you received a fax?

3. Have you experienced issues sending/receiving faxes recently?

In answer to your questions:

1. The 'TX Report' is printed.

2. Since I seldomly use the fax, I cannot remember when it was last used to receive. The "ST.Time indicates 12/31 16:06

3. I sent a fax approximately 2 months ago.

As stated previously, I Cannot find anything in the queue. I have completely uninstalled and re-installed the MX420 and updated the drivers from the Canon site.

Have you gotten this fixed? Mine started doing it after I tried to send a fax one time! It's so annoying!

Yes, I downloaded the driver again, and all is well.
