Hello GARYP.

Unfortunately, the MP600 is not compatible with Windows 8. This printer is only supported on Windows 7 and earlier. I apologize for this inconvenience.

Why isn't there win 8 drivers for the MP600 yet? Does Canon intend to fix this soon?
