My mg 2550 connected to laptop via usb cable has been working fine but suddenly stopped working as it does not recognise the connection. I have tried 2 other laptops but it does now work with any of them !

I uninstalled the printer on one of the laptops and then downloaded drivers from the Canon website but it would not install them as the printer showed offline. Any help appreciated.
