Cannon TS900 Printer: black and white only option?

Hi, I recently purchased this printer because it was a good deal and had great reviews online..

BUT most of the things I print off are mainly text and my old printer had the option on my computer screen where I could "print in black and white only" this printer doesnt give me that option on my screen. I am not sure if I am missing something or if this printer doesnt do this.

Hi LadyFurPatterns,

I'm afraid that this model is not able to isolate the black ink cartridge, although it is smart enough to use black ink when printing text. Generally speaking, only those printers with two ink cartridges will allow thhat kind of ink management. I regret any inconveinience.
