Canon MG6100 streaking when printing in black

Hi everyone,

I've been having issues for the past week with my Canon MG6100. When printing photos, I get streaks but only on the black color. Printing documents works just fine.

What I've tried so far :

- Replacing both the photo black and "large" black ink cartridges

- Doing multiple pass of "deep cleaning" and "alignment" in the printer's maintenance section

- Cleaning the print head by soaking it in water+alcohol

Any ideas what I could attempt next? Attached is the result of a test print. You can clearly see the streaking on the right side, only in the black color.

I have the samr issue with my canon MG7520 printer, Streaking with printing in black only. did all the sme things including reloading the soft ware...to no avale...still streaks

After a quick round of test prints + nozzle checks, Canon support referred me to this article for cleaning the encoder. I have yet to test the solution.

Since my unit is old, Canon also offered to go for an upgrade through their Sales dept. I'm considering getting a new unit, but it's too bad considering I am not such a heavy user.
