MP 560 Printer Cartridge Question

Is it possible to force the printer to print balck and white from the smaller black ink cartridge when the large black ink cartridge is empty? I've got 4 new small (BK 221) cartridges to use. The larger black cartridge (PGBK 220) is empty and the printer won't print.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello.

Forcing the 221 black tank into the 220 slot would result in damage to the printer. If an "empty" warning is displayed for the 220BK tank, please replace the tank to resume printing again.

So there is no printer setting that can be used to force the use of the smaller black cartridge?
