      <title>MX870 printer alarm light on constantly - no error message</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The alarm light on my MX870 printer is constantly on.&amp;nbsp; The LCD is blank and none of the buttons work.&amp;nbsp; This includes the&amp;nbsp; power button.&amp;nbsp; I have unplugged the printer for more than 10 minutes and get the same state when the printer is plugged back in.&amp;nbsp; The printer was in the midst of printing a document when it went into this state.&amp;nbsp; Any suggestions for getting it working again would be welcome.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

While the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the printer and let it sit for 60 seconds. While the power is off, press the power button 5 times. After 60 seconds plug the power cord back in and power on the printer.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If this does not clear the alarm light, the printer has experienced an internal hardware issue.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please be advised repair service is no longer available for this product.
