MG3620 Printing Ridiculously Slow

My new Canon Pixma MG3620 is printing PDFs so slow it's absurd. A single black and white page literally takes 2 minutes! I've tried multiple PDFs, some that were quite simple, and all of them have this issue. It prints a line, then pauses for a few seconds before continuing to the next line. Sometimes it even just gives up part way through the print job. As a student with a lot of readings to print this is frustrating. I used to have an MG3022 and it printed similar documents with reasonable speed. What could be causing this?
