Paper profile MG 5400 Mac

I have two printer drivers installed. MG7700 and MG5400.

I am able to acces the icc paper profiles for the 7700 for proofing, printing etc.

The profile for the 5400 is nowhere to be seen.

Is there somewher online to download the Canon MG5400 series GL2.icc profile so I can manually inatall it?

Try reinstalling the printer driver.

I had reinstalled the latest driver. Since I can find and see the 7700 icc files, if I could acquire the 5400 profiles, I could install them manually.

Are you sure you have the IJ Series version of the printer installed and on the AirPrint version.

Everything in the Canon utilities folder starts with IJ.

The driver version is 16.10.0.0

I don't know what AirPrint is.

What do you see when you go to System Preferences->Printers & Scanners?

Something like this:

Click Options & Supplies and get to the priner utility

You want something similar that says 5400 series.

Yes, I see all those for the 5400.

BTW the printer is recognized and prints. The problem is for printing jobs and soft proofing there is no

Canon MG5400 series GL2.icc available. Only Canon MG7700 series GL2.icc

OK. Since you have that profile for the 7700 printer I know you know that you need to add profiles in LR in order to have them appear in the printing drop down. Maybe that printer doesn’t support that paper. Give Canon a call at 1-800-OK-CANON.

Hi TomM130,

Canon does not offer a separate file for the GL2.icc profile for the MG5400 series printer.

Try removing the printer from the printer list.

Add the printer back to the list, when adding the printer back to ensure that the Canon MG5400 series is next to USE before selecting ADD. Adfter this is done, restart your computer and attempt to locate the profiles again.

This worked.

I can now proof and print with the 5400 profile.

Interestingly, I don't see the profile in any of the usuall folders and it does not show up in colorsync utility.

In the macOS system the Canon profiles are in a package in a system folder. Totally unlike the Windows approach.
