So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon printer model you're using. The only printers Canon USA has offered that involve the number "490" are the PIXMA MP490 and the PIXMA MX490. Please let us know if it's one of these models or if you have something different. Printer model is unclear. As Danny pointed out, there is no printer with a "WH" designation.

If the paper settings for printing or copying are different from the cassette paper information registered to the machine as the following, a message is displayed on the LCD.

And the error message you said the printer displays indicates a problem with the paper registered for output.
