      <title>MX310 Scanner function not working</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have an MX 310 printer/scanner.&amp;nbsp; All I want to use is the scanner.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am using a Dell laptop running windows 8.&amp;nbsp; I've downloaded to latest drivers and my laptop seems to recognize the scanner.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But when I hit the scan button it just beeps. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I tried to scan from the laptop but I couldn't get that to work either.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Am I required to have working print cartridges in it?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi stukawife.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The MX310 will need to have each of a compatible color and black cartridge installed, in order for scanning to be performed.&amp;nbsp; If you haven't yet done so, you will also need to install the Canon-produced drivers from the CD, or from the &lt;U&gt;&lt;FONT color="#0000FF"&gt;&lt;A href="https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/support-inkjet-printer/mx-series/pixma-mx310/pixma-mx310?tab=drivers_downloads" target="_self"&gt;MX310 Drivers &amp;amp; Downloads page&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/U&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Did this answer your question?
