TR8520 Scanner does not work with Canon IJ Scan Utility2 using macbook pro with iOS Catalina

I have a macbook pro with iOS Catalina. Canon IJ Scan Utility2 gives an error message saying in cannot find the TR8520 scanner. I have tried solutions for the postings I could find but I cannot even get past the error popup window. Please help

Are you using your TR8520 wirelessly? or with a USB cable?

Are you able to print?

Are you able to scan using Image Capture?
