      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi kate-o,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Since you have already verified that there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer, we can try to perform a roller cleaning on the printer to see if this will solve the problem.&amp;nbsp; To do this, please follow these steps:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;OL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Ensure that the printer is powered on and remove any paper from the Auto Sheet Feeder (ASF).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Press the &amp;lt;Menu&amp;gt; button.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Use the right / left cursor button to select [Maintenance/settings], then press &amp;lt;OK&amp;gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Note: This procedure is skipped if your machine is in Scan mode. Proceed to step 4.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Use the right / left cursor button to select [Maintenance], then press &amp;lt;OK&amp;gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Perform the paper feed&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;roller&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;cleaning three times.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;OL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Use the up / down cursor button to select [&lt;SPAN&gt;Roller&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;cleaning], then press &amp;lt;OK&amp;gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;IMG border="0" src="http://kbsupport.cusa.canon.com/system/storage/1/kb/attachments/ServiceWareImages/LDImages/SolutionAnswer/MP450/MP450_RollerCleaning.gif" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;When prompted to start&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;roller&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;cleaning, use the up / down cursor button to select [Yes], then press &amp;lt;OK&amp;gt;. (The paper feed&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;roller&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;cleaning starts.)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/OL&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Check if the paper feed&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;roller&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;cleaning procedure resolved the issue.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;OL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Load a sheet of letter-sized plain paper in the ASF and open the paper output tray.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Use the up / down cursor button to select [&lt;SPAN&gt;Roller&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;cleaning], then press &amp;lt;OK&amp;gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;IMG border="0" src="http://kbsupport.cusa.canon.com/system/storage/1/kb/attachments/ServiceWareImages/LDImages/SolutionAnswer/MP450/MP450_RollerCleaning.gif" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Use the up / down cursor button to select [Yes], then press the OK button.
