topic MX922 Wants to Test Print a Fax in Desktop Inkjet Printers

I have set up and connected my Canon MX922 wirelessly to my hp pavilion pc running Windows 10. When I try to do a Print Test Page, nothing happens and when I look at printer properties it appears that it is wanting to send a FAX rather than print a document. Is there a way to disable this or what am I doing weird.

Hi jwulmer.

When the MX922 is installed correctly on a Windows computer, it will have two entries:

Canon MX920 series (Printer)

Canon MX920 series Fax

When printing, ensure that you are selecting the "Canon MX920 series" entry; the "... series FAX" entry will ensure that the computer tries sending a fax out.

If the printer only shows up once in your list of printers, then it was most likely set up using the default drivers that come preinstalled on windows. If this is what you're seeing, remove the current entry for the MX922, then download and run the MX920 series MP Driver from the MX922 Drivers & Downloads page.

Did this answer your question?
