Gmail accounts and i j scan

I am trying to scan thru i j scan and send with email. In settings my only choices are microsoft outlook, manually attach or add. When i click add it goes to file explorer and is looking for a filename. Hoe do I get i j scan to recognize that I use gmail and then after scanning prompt me for the email.address I want to send the scan to?

my printer is a pixma mx 490

Hi woodydixon,

Scanning directly to a Gmail account is not supported with the PIXMA MX490.

Please scan the item and save it to your computer. Once saved, please open a new message in Gmail and attach the saved scan manually to the new email message.
