MX922 Print Head PGBK Skips Half of Print Area

My MX922 pixma printer skips half of PGBK lines/text. Color prints fine. Anything printed with PGBK does not. Note, the problem is in the printer, not the computer, as the test sheet does not print the PGBK correctly (skips first half of PGBK section). I suspect that it prints fine when the cartridge is going in one direction, but when it comes back, it doesn't print at all as the pattern is very regular. Like this:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

What is the remedy for this malfunction?

Greetings,

MX922 that its having problems printing. Test page does not print completely or reliably.

How old is the printer?

When did it last work? Whats changed?

Are the inks new, old, used infrequently?

Have you performed a nozzle check, performed a cleaning operation?

Reseating the printhead?

Maybe clean the encoder strip?
