I have a new TR 4520 printer. Is the output tray supposed to click and stay in a vertical position ?

Mine just lays on top the paper tray such that it must be held upwards while loading paper into the paper tray.

Hi ckm,

When the Paper Output Support and Output Tray Extension are extended, you would not be able to close the Paper Output Tray. In most cases, you can lift up the Paper Output Tray to reload the paper and then lower it once the paper in in place.
