Resolved: Information Acquisition Error when installing Pixma MX472 driver

Received a new laptop and needing to re-establish connection with a previously working printer.

I downloaded latest driver from the canon website - called win-mx470-1_1-ucd

I uploaded the printer's firmware version

I have tried to run the install as "Run as Administrator"

My internet is connected.

I keep receiving the "Information Acquisition Error" when trying to run the .exe file.

I have also tried updating the .exe and turning into .zip and running the "MSETUP4.EXE" directly as administrator and keep receiving the same error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1/19 - super pumped as I resolved it myself.

I used netplwiz to associate myself as an Administrator, then re-logged in and it worked. See below for steps.
