i80 and the new printhead

Hi there

I was gifted a used i80 printer and after trying to clear the printheads was having success with only 2 of the colors. So I decided to buy a replacement printhead off of ebay for what seemed to be the going price of $20. Hoping it will do the trick but wanted to ask if that is likely to cure the problem. Got new cartridges wich I will be using.

Used equipment, maybe.

It's impossible for us to say with certainty what could, or if a new part would fix it.

Canon i80 paper jam

Canon i80, has ink carts, appears ready to print but no go.

Upon starting:

1) carraige moves from far right to far left then settles into 'ready' position

2) paper is taken up / moves into position

3) yellow light flashes 3 times

Manual says 3 lights = paper jam but there is no paper in the mechanism other than the intake tray as described above.

Tried unpluggin for 1/2 hour then starting up - same issue.

Can not print a self test page by holding down the re-set because the yellow flashing light..

Assistance appreciated!
