Trying to follow manual to scan--not much luck

I just purchased a PIXMA TS3822 printer. I'm trying to learn how to use it, and I downloaded the manual. Trouble is, the illustrations I see and the settings it describes are not to be found.

I can't figure out how to name a folder in my documents to which to send the scanned files.

Only once has it asked me after the first page scanned if I wanted to continue scanning or end the scan. It just ends it.

Any help anyone can offer is appreciated. Otherwise I fear I'm going to be sitting on hold with Canon tech support for a long time tomorrow.

Do you own the PIXMA TS8322?

What version of Windows is installed on your computer?

If you are using a Mac, what version of OSX is installed?
