      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi patmcnulty,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This error indicates that the printer is not recognizing the holder that the ink tanks sit into, the print head.&amp;nbsp; What we can do is try reseating the print head to see if this resolves the issue.&amp;nbsp; Please perform the following to reseat the print head:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1.&amp;nbsp; Open the printer's front cover, and then open and close the print head lock lever (do not remove the print head).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2.&amp;nbsp; Make sure all ink tanks are seated properly.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3.&amp;nbsp; Make sure all packing materials have been removed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;4.&amp;nbsp; Make sure no paper is jammed in the printer.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;5.&amp;nbsp; Disconnect the printer cable from the printer.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;6.&amp;nbsp; Close the front cover and turn the printer off.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;7.&amp;nbsp; Unplug the printer from the power source, and then plug it back in after five minutes.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;8.&amp;nbsp; Power on the printer.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If the error returns, the printer will require service options.&amp;nbsp;To find out your service options, please&amp;nbsp;click the following link: &amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/standard_display/contact_us_consumer" target="_blank"&gt;Contact Us&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I am having the same problem with my MX700.&amp;nbsp; Somewhere on this board they recommended the same procedure but after trying it four times I still have thwe same problem - a device I can not use.&amp;nbsp; I hope this doesn't happen with my MX860 as well.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
