This is a guess since the printer model is unknown.

BK triangle is for the black ink cartridge, the OP can confirm.

And the BK light is on and the cartridge is new, i took it out and reinstalled it and light went off, but is now back on and so is error light? How long do cartridges usually last? Ive only used the black to print 2 items ...I've used the color for everything else

Hi Sparky58,

The lights next to BK and CL indicate if the ink is low or the ink is out.

Blinking means that the ink is low.

On steady means that the ink is out and needs to be replaced.
