Canon PIXMA MX870 Software error

In trying to fix a problem with Canon Imageclass printer I had to delete the other printer, MX870. Trying to add it to my MacBook w/Big Sur 11.2.3 I get an error saying software was incorrectly and to lgo to manufacturers website to reinstall software. There is no software, nor drivers, for this model printer. Any suggestions?

Hello,

So we can best assist you, please let us know the model of imageClass printer you are trying to install.

Also, you wont be able to reinstall any software or drivers on the BigSur operating system because the scanner was retired and is not supported with that operating system.

Thanks for your reply. Since Big Sur won't work with the scanner portion of the MX870 we can just cancel the troubleshooting. I'm using an MF4890dw printer and scanner now so I don't really need the scanner portion of the MX870 although I can print on the color printer portion of this equipment. Thanks anyway.
