What software are you using?

Exactly what is the objective? Do you want to export the images in JPEG format for sharing or do you just want to have the edited image saved?

I am using DPP4, guess I should have stated that. I want to move my edited RAW photos to a folder without converting them to a JPEG. When I try to cut and paste the photo is the unedited version. The same thing happens when I covert to JPEG also.

DPP saves the editing info with the RAW file when you save it.

I am away from my PC at this time, so I am going from memory.

I believe you can use the Save as option and select a destination folder as one method.

I also think you can just move the file to a different folder.

Perhaps you aren't saving the RAW file when you are finished editing? When you go to exit DPP it should ask you if you want to save the edited files.

I have been saving after finishing my edit.

I'll re-save and see if that will make a differnce.

To clarify when I edit and save DPP does not save it to the original file?

Yes, it should. But only DPP can read the info.

Are you saying it doesn’t save the edits?

The easiest way to test that is select the Monochrome Picture Style, save and rhen reopen the file.

Some edits (like Crop I think) won’t show in the thumbnails.

When I click on the thumbnail the edited version will show as the bigger photo. If I click quick check the unedited version shows.

Yes. Quick Check is intended to be used for culling of imported files. It uses the embedded JPEG that is based on the unedited RAW file.

You are getting the correct performance of DPP.

I updated the software and the edited files look great I just can't get them to save to a folder.

I took photos of my son's family and would like to put the RAW photos on a flash drive and give it to him.

You can copy/paste outside of DPP using Finder.

They will have to use DPP to view though.

I recommend you batch process the files using Convert and Save as TIFFs or JPEG unless you want them to be able to re-edit.

Note, that depending on the computer, he may not have the ability to read RAW files, especially edited ones.

I am using a MacBook Pro that is 3 years old.I have had no issues reading RAW files using Apple Photos

But not an edited one. The problem is sharing it. AFAIK, Photos does not do sidecars.
