      <description>Thanks. (for clarity)... I DO NOT want square images, I just want to resize portrait AND landscape images in a single process where the max size of the longest edge of any given image does not exceed 1000 pixels</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks very much for the tip John. IMHO, it would be more straightforward if a percentage scaling option was available. Another approach would be to allow separate selection of landscape and portrait images.&lt;/P&gt;
